• Medical attention for your injuries
• Pictures of your injuries to keep as a record of your abuse
• A "Danger Assessment / Safety Plan" to help you understand how to keep yourself & your children as safe as possible
• Help developing a plan to safely leave your abuser
• Help identifying your options to deal with financial difficulties resulting from your situation, and help connecting with those services
• Help finding a place to live or completing subsidized housing paperwork
• Legal consultation (access to Legal Aid certificates or to a lawyer who will accept your Legal Aid certificate)
• Admission to a shelter
• Counselling for yourself
• Counselling for your children
• Advice and support from the Durham Children’s Aid Society
• Police consultation or involvement
